Deborah Nagin, a public health professional for over 25 years, is the Director of the NYC Department of Health & Mental Hygiene, Healthy Homes Program (HHP). Ms. Nagin began her career as a health advocate for occupational safety and health. In 2001 she became the Director of the NYC Health Department’s Childhood Lead Poisoning Prevention Program. In 2008 the program expanded to address other home environmental hazards, especially asthma triggers. Under Ms. Nagin’s leadership HHP has built strong collaborations with affordable housing nonprofits to promote healthy building practices like integrated pest management. Ms. Nagin has a MPH from Columbia University.
